How do I set up the Ultra 1600mW VTX without burning it out on the bench?
Always connect a quality 5.8GHz antenna before applying power. While the Ultra 1600mW features onboard thermal protection, radiating 1.6W of RF power produces serious heat without flight airflow; keep the VTX in Pit Mode or 25mW in Betaflight while bench-testing to avoid triggering thermal throttling or letting out the magic smoke.
